Ancestor Worship
1.) Africa
The Egyptians from Africa respected their ancestors especially the pharaohs of the kingdom. What they did to the ancestors was that they mummified the bodies of the dead pharaohs. When they buried the bodies of the pharaohs, they created huge tombs for them and they placed their belongings with them in the tombs and had guards protecting the tombs from robbers. Before the burial of the pharaohs they had special priests preform the ceremony and have writing written on the wall for the afterlife and to curse those who enter. On certain festival they had the statues of the gods were put on a boat and they rowed it to a nearby temple. Then they return it the next day. A similar journey is taken by the deceased of the people.

3.)East Asia
In East Asia they have very similar traditions and rituals in both China and Japan. They both respect their ancestors greatly. They both have big temples and graves for their ancestors. When Buddhism spread to Japan the religion emphasized that they have ancestral rites. They both have elaborate graves and have annual festivals to honor those who have died. During these festivals the spirits of the dead come back and return to the houses of their families. They also preform elaborate and fancy funerals for the dead or the dying.

4.)The Andean areas
The Incans respects their ancestors so much that they have a whole month of worship to them in the month of the dead. During this month they would take the deceased out of the crypts and then they would give them offerings such as clothes, feathers, burnt offerings, and food. Then they would parade the bodies around the streets and plazas. These activities were done primarily to the royal mummies. In Incan belief is that they should mummify the royal Incan kings. They would also give offerings to him on the funeral. They also believe that the soul leaves the body after death and that they are still participant in affairs of state.
